It is foreseen energy consumption will grow exponentially but, what about people the bottom of the pyramid who lack basic human needs?  What about people who live in war-like areas where development is stopped by crime, terrorism and civil struggle? What about the 45.2 million people displaced by conflict or persecution? SUN MALIYA is a Service Company that focuses on concentrated areas of people without the basic resource of light starting with Somalia. People there experience outages, corruption in charging personnel, and limited distribution of electricity. Moreover, remittance is suspected to be redirected to criminal organizations. Sun Maliya is a web-based platform that provides the means for Somalis living outside the country, to provide their community peers with solar prepaid light:

A solar system is ordered via our platform. We then arrange distribution of the kit.  Afterwards, the web platform is used to buy light vouchers and a code is sent via SMS to the users. This code is manually inserted in the system providing light and mobile charging for one month. We then eliminate upfront investment, provide easy and safe to use system, a flexible worldwide payment method, avoids redirection of remittance, and discard unhealthy kerosene and candles increasing  immediately the quality of life.

Sun Maliya brings the online world and the real world together to disrupt the current energy distribution model. We are changing the way people provide lighting to endangered populations and reducing the effort to only a couple of clicks.

The model is replicable, scalable and could later be used by Greenpeace, the UN, NGOs and even by you.

Our team is composed by international and multicultural people who believe that technology can be used to address social issues with innovative and profitable Business Models.

We envisioned creating decentralized energy infrastructures that will form the first community-driven virtual power plants.
